History of 700R4
Turbo 700 was introduced in the year 1982 as a response to fuel economy pressures and it was phased as the replacement for the TH350. It had lower-than-usual 3.06:1 first gear, and it was widely known for off-the-line acceleration and off-road torque. TH700R4 can be easily found, either as a used part or a rebuilt kit. The transmission was renamed to 4L60 in the year 1990, based on the characteristics of the transmission. In 1993 most important change was done to 700R4 with the introduction of electronically controlled transmissions.

  2. Worn out TV cable: A worn out TV cable is another difficulty found in 700R4 transmission. If you find any sign of wear or damage in the wire cable, then you should immediately replace it.
